Open day at Otway Research Facility

Saturday 18 November 2017 from 10.30am – 3pm

At its Otway National Research Facility CO2CRC is working to build a low emissions future for Australia and the world through carbon capture and storage (CCS). Come and find out why CCS is vital for reliable and affordable electricity for Australian homes and industry. Our $47million Stage 3 storage project has started and we’d like to share our research plans.

There’ll be:
Free barista-made coffee
Guided tours
Gourmet barbeque lunch
Activities for kids including a giant slide

Please wear long sleeves, pants and covered shoes to enter the site.

Getting there

  • Make your own way there. CO2CRC’s Otway National Research Facility is in Brumby’s Lane, Nirranda South. Just off the Great Ocean Road near the Nirranda South CFA.  View a map here.
  • Catch our free bus. If there’s enough interest we’ll arrange a bus departing Carlton at 8am and arriving back at 5.30pm. To join the bus email your name to
