CCSNet laboratory opens at Federation University, Gippsland
On Friday 16 September CO2CRC and Federation University officially opened a CCS laboratory at Federation University’s Gippsland campus.
The lab was opened by the Hon Darren Chester, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Federal Member for Gippsland.
The FedUni laboratory is part of the Australian CCS Research Laboratories Network (CCSNet). It is funded through a $2.3 million agreement between the Australian Government’s Education Investment Fund and CO2CRC Limited.
More than 60 guests listened to speeches which included CO2CRC’s Chairman, Martin Ferguson, as well as the laboratory’s Director, Dr Vince Verheyen. Afterwards they were given a tour of the impressive new facility.
The launch attracted considerable media attention and was covered by the Gippsland newspaper, television and radio.
